Twarze 1: Po mieście poruszam się komunikacją miejską i patrzę wtedy na współpasażerów. Najczęściej twarze zatopione we własnych myślach, bez uśmiechu, bez emocji. Czasem znajduję w nich coś niezwykłego, co od razu przywodzi mi na myśl chęć namalowania portretu lub zrobienie fotografii. To może być spojrzenie, kosmyk włosów, łuk brwi, coś, co przykuwa mój wzrok. Nie staram się odgadywać myśli. Wiem, że nie są do odgadnięcia. Bywa, że spotykam czyjś wzrok. Wtedy się uśmiecham. To takie ważne dostawać i rozdawać uśmiechy.
Twarze 2: Namalowano wiele portretów. Jest jeden, który lubię szczególnie. To Dziewczyna z perłą Jana Vermeer. Ten holenderski malarz nie namalował wielu obrazów, jednak gdyby stworzył tylko ten; byłby to dla mnie jeden z najlepszych portretów wszechczasów. Jego nastrój, koloryt, plamki światła –urzekające spojrzenie, wyraz twarzy zapraszającej do zawarcia znajomości. Niezwykła szczerość i otwartość tej twarzy powoduje, że ma się ją ciągle przed oczami. Postać, o której historycy sztuki - mimo prób odkrycia, kim jest - wciąż nic nie wiedzą. Jest, więc wciąż piękną nieznajomą budzącą wzruszenie i radość.
